I’ve always believed orthodontics should be thoughtful, personalised and judgement-free. Straight teeth matter, but how those teeth function together over the long term matters even more. That philosophy guides every orthodontic case I’m involved in at WA Dental.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia, and since then I’ve focused my career almost exclusively on orthodontics. I’ve completed postgraduate qualifications in digital orthodontics, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics, and digital orthodontic treatments across the UK and Australia. I’m currently completing two Master’s degrees in orthodontics through the University of Greater Manchester. One focuses on dento-facial orthodontics, and the other on clear aligner orthodontics.
Since 2014, I’ve treated thousands of orthodontic patients, ranging from straightforward alignment to more complex bite correction cases. Along the way, I’ve developed my own approaches where existing systems fell short, including a novel hook and coil appliance designed to improve overbite correction, and WA Dental Aligners, our own clear aligner system supported by our in-house lab.
Despite the technical side of orthodontics, my approach with patients is simple. No judgement. No pressure. Clear explanations, realistic expectations, and treatment planned around real lives, not just perfect textbook cases. If treatment is appropriate, I’ll explain why. If it’s not, I’ll tell you that too.
My goal is to deliver great results that last, while making the process feel approachable, supportive, and transparent from start to finish.
Why Choose WA Dental for Orthodontic Treatment in Perth?
Choosing orthodontic treatment is a big decision. Patients come to WA Dental because they want great results, honest advice, and care that feels personal rather than transactional.
At the core of orthodontics at WA Dental is judgement you can trust. Every case is assessed carefully, and not every case is accepted. If orthodontic treatment is not appropriate, or if a case would be better managed by a specialist orthodontist, this is explained openly. That selectiveness is intentional, and it’s why patients feel confident in the recommendations they receive.
Many patients are drawn to WA Dental because they want specialist-level thinking without specialist barriers. Treatment is planned with depth and precision, while remaining accessible, flexible, and realistically priced. Orthodontics here is affordable without ever feeling rushed or compromised.
Patients also value the environment. WA Dental is judgement-free, supportive, and genuinely welcoming. Many patients return with siblings, partners, parents, or friends, which reflects the trust built over time. The clinic combines advanced digital technology, including 3D scanners and in-house systems, with a positive, energetic team who care deeply about outcomes.
As an all-in-one clinic, patients can access orthodontics and general dental care in one place, while still benefiting from strong relationships with other dentists and specialist orthodontists when collaboration is needed.
Orthodontic care at WA Dental is built on trust, honesty and great results.

Dr Marc’s Before and Afters
What Are Braces?
Braces are orthodontic appliances used to move teeth into better alignment and improve how the bite functions over time.
They work by applying gentle, controlled forces to the teeth, guiding them into more ideal positions. As treatment progresses, adjustments are made to steadily improve alignment, spacing, and bite relationships.
Once treatment is complete, retainers are used to help maintain the results and support long-term stability.
Unlike cosmetic-only solutions, braces:
correct tooth position and bite function
address crowding, spacing, and bite issues
improve how teeth wear and fit together
support long-term oral health and stability
Braces remain one of the most predictable and effective orthodontic treatments available when planned and monitored carefully.
What Are Aligners?
Aligners are clear, removable orthodontic trays designed to gradually move teeth into better alignment over time. They are often called Invisalign.
They work through a planned series of custom-made trays, each applying small, controlled movements to guide teeth into their desired positions. Aligners are changed regularly as treatment progresses, with each stage building on the last.
Because aligners are removable, they can be taken out for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, making them a flexible option for many patients.
Unlike fixed braces, aligners:
are clear and discreet
can be removed for meals and cleaning
allow easier oral hygiene during treatment
are designed using digital planning for precise tooth movement
Aligners can be highly effective when used correctly and are best suited to cases where careful planning and patient compliance are combined.
